After the gold rush: RayJay advisor unit builds on Western gains with two recruiting hires
More than five years after staking its claim in the Western United States, Raymond James Financial Services has made two hires to build upon its recruiting momentum in the region.
Brent Randol, based in San Francisco's Bay Area, joined the advisor channel of Raymond James Financial Inc. in January to support recruiting in Northern California and northern Nevada.
Rollin Ellis, who joined Raymond James as an AdvisorChoice consultant in 2016, is now business development consultant for RJFS serving as the primary contact for potential financial advisors in Southern and Central California, Hawaii and Guam. His base of operations is San Diego.

Established in 2013, the West division now has 500 financial advisors in 218 branches spread out across Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington, according to the firm. Before joining Raymond James, Randol worked at various firms in the Bay Area including Citi, where he served as an area investment manager, and Ameriprise Financial Services, where he led recruiting efforts in three western states as a regional director.

Ellis was previously regional director for business development at LPL Financial and a regional advisor at First Allied Securities and at Prudential Financial.

Both men report to Bill Counsman, Western regional director.
