Top ERISA and employee benefits law firm takes on new partner

Dan Brandenburg joined The Wagner Group as a partner, effective Jan. 1.

Brandenburg has extensive experience in the areas of pension, 401(k) and welfare plans, executive compensation (including plans for tax-exempt organizations) and executive employment. He also has substantial experience with association-sponsored member service programs. Brandenburg represents clients regularly before the IRS, the Department of Labor and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation and counsels clients with respect to the IRS and DOL voluntary compliance programs and audits and investigations initiated by the IRS, DOL and PBGC. Brandenburg received an LL.M. in taxation and a J.D.. from Georgetown University Law Center, a B.A. and B.S. from Rutgers University, and is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia. Prior to joining The Wagner Law Group, Dan was a partner at Saul Ewing LLP and the managing shareholder of Washington, D.C.-based Sanders, Schnabel & Brandenburg PC.  Brandenburg has an AV peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, has been named to The Best Lawyers in America list for Employee Benefits Law since 2001 and has also been selected as a Washington, D.C. Super Lawyer from 2007 to the present.
