Orion surprises RIAs with 8.9% price jump, effective April 1 (no joke!); blames 'extreme inflation' -- a possible boon for upstart competitors

Orion has low costs - low employee pay, small service teams, speed that implies that their server costs are lower. From my perspective there is no way this is inflation related, but rather an excuse to pass cost of a sales slump to their existing customers. Can advisors do this to clients if their prospecting comes up short? Probably not, nor would they dare pass costs to their clients citing “inflation”. Sounds like a sale is coming.

Apparently our contract now means nothing and prices can change at the whim of Orion's choosing? Sounds like I can finally get out of it and look elsewhere. Shame on management.
